I rise above the flames
Transforming in my wake,
I fly out of the fire
Becoming whole once more.
My eyes burning,
Singeing, stinging,
Feathers shining,
Glistening,
Glowing,
Ruffling,
My soul singing...
A golden hue
Surrounding me,
Each time I can't manage,
Each time I crash back to earth,
Each time I have my wings clipped,
I just remember
I'm a firebird from birth,
I come out of the ashes,
Rising up,
Fighting up,
Being born again,
From head to toe
Power oozing
Electrifying,
Sizzling scarlet orange,
I never give in,
My heart, maybe,
A lost jewel in the flaming,
Flickering fire,
The lava boiling
Engulfing,
Cleansing,
Winking at me
From it's hot bed of flames,
As I smile,
And take flight
Disappearing
And knowing
That I'm a jewelled phoenix
I may be a jinx,
But I'm a fireball in the night
Rising,
Meeting,
Coming,
Defeating,
As I will be for the rest of my life.
