Summer Storm
The warm summer rain
Surrounds us, drenches our clothes;
Your white dress, my white shirt,
Clings to our skin.
The rain drips from your long hair
and lingers on your lashes.
It caresses your face
And pauses on your moist lips
I can taste the rain
As it drips down my own face
And over my eyes, obscuring my vision.
Your hand in mine
feels smooth as sun-bathed silk.
And as I lead you through the storm
our bare feet spray water
in all directions.
I whip you around,
and your long hair sends droplets
of water cascading to the ground.
Your body is so close to mine;
I can smell the sweet fragrance of your perfume
mixed with the fresh smell of summer;
the two combined give an over powering sensation.
Like I’m dancing in the middle of a rose garden.
I can feel your heart beat
against my chest; our combined warmth
blocks out the cold dampness
that comes with the rain.
The wind brushes against us; brushes
the blades of grass at our feet,
against the bare skin of our legs.
We move gracefully, we step as one.
Our bodies become one.
The thunder becomes our beating hearts,
the rain, our perspiration
the lightening, the burning passion
in our eyes.
We sway with the wind, and dip with the rain.
We move with the storm.
We become the summer storm
And we dance.
