Rain On The Rooftop

Rain on the rooftop
What a wonderful sound
The stresses of life
Seem to melt and to drown

Bacon is cooking
So sweet in in air
Like a warm memory
Seeping through time to share

Life is quite different
Than it used to be
But it has it’s own sweetness
If you just stop and see

The past is quite hard to erase
Yes it’s true
But keep the good memories
And set out to make new

Don’t let the past
Hold you slave from the new
Open your eyes
There’s a new life for you

Listen, perceive
What is life telling you
Hear the sweet song
God is singing to you

Faith can create
If you choose to let it do
Change your perceptions
Let the sun shine on you

Make a new memory
Start with today
Your tales of tomorrow
Are not far away

Search for the sweetness
I know it’s around
Like a sweet summer’s rain
Gently hitting the ground
