A Young Man
*This a true story. He was once one of my best and closest friends I had, until he left me... This is what happened.*
This young man walks quietly onward
Knowing that what he’s about
To do will change his life
He walks up to the table
And intrigued look upon his face
As he studies the items on the table top
A man in uniform greets him with a smile
And a firm hand shake
The young man like a fish after bait
At home The Boy’s life is hard
Not knowing which direction to go or who to talk to
He gives into The Uniformed Man
The Man points to a space on the paper
The young man picks up a random pen
He signs the paper with rash feelings
The Man hands him some papers and a key-chain
The Boy walks away slowly head hanging
Anger and Confusion come over his face
A couple months pass
The Boy finally realizes that
His life isn’t SO bad, after all
Panic fills every crevice of the young man’s body
He stares blankly into infinity
Trying to sort his many rambaling thoughts and feelings
Friends and family are supportive
Of his decision yet
Very sad and distraught
The date draws closer and the sorrow falls
He’s quickly reminded that he must loose everything
To serve and pursue his dreams
The Girl is crying on her bed
Wishing for just one more sight of him
As she drifts into her many dreams of him
She wipes her flooded face
As she opens her phone
Eagerly awaiting his reply
The young man lay crooked on his hotel bed
Alone and scared of what he’s about to do
He can’t help but cry as he thinks of the world he’s leaving
He closes his eyes as he cries
Cell phone in hand resting delicately on his chest
He thinks of the amazing girl he is texting
[Please, I am not getting very much feed back from readers. I would really like to know what you all think. Please comment! OH there is another poem that goes along with this one. It is titled "The Body". It conveys MY feelings about the situation that you have just read about. They are meant to be read together. I hope you enjoy these poems. Thanks! (^_^)V
