It's a double tap to the chest
with a kill shot to the head
I trusted you to have my back but
what I received was nothing but slack &
so you fell back
You keep telling me
not to cry
While the tears fall from my eyes
I just kissed you goodbye
Tears burn my face
as they crawl over my cheekbone
than run across my face to hide again
The merry go round always dancing
the same circular dance
As I look out I see you standing in place
looking at me spin round
I wonder will this ever end
You know gears of the mind
often go into overdrive
When the heart fears the failure of love
Sitting in the dark peeking over the covers
Lurking in the dark I see eyes looking at me
There was stillness, silent shadow of will
shock of fear rising
The mind is flashing photos of death stir
my imagination
The nights silence of you not here
Its a double tap to my heart with
a kill shot to my head
As my wounded soul hits the floor
Our love melts into thin air
Ash to dust it's blown away
As I am
thoughts still run over my mind
blinking pieces of our life
thrown away
untangle my soul
I must let you go
as the wind with
this last breath you are gone.
