The batting of my lids,
Mimics the fluttering of my heart,

And my pupils are in constant dilation,
Overwhelmed by the glorious infiltration,
Of the sight of you!...

Much to the detriment
Of the deprived and envious whites.

Author bio: Denise C. Floyd is the author of two books. Her first book is a romance fantasy novel called "Tales from the Boudoir," a love story from the perspective of a bed! She is quite smitten with French culture, which shines through in much of her writing. "The Shaga Blageek Poetry Packet" is her second book and consists of poems written between 2001 and 2008. Since the publication of "The Shaga Blageek Poetry Packet," she has written a great many poems and plans to publish more poetry books in the future. Poetry is her passion; poetry, she feels, is her greatest talent, which she owes solely to almighty God. Denise C. Floyd lives in Georgia with her husband, pet snake, and pet bird!
