My Little Kitten

When the morning comes the little kitten wakes up and demands to be cuddled with
Only to bounce away for something has caught her eye and she frolics to the window, curious to see what’s outside
She then demands to be let out, not leaving you a minute until she gets her way
Outside goes the kitten, eager to play, stalking big sisters when she may,
Taunting and teasing those she plays with like a cat with yarn
Then it is time for a movie and she curls up in your lap and watches the TV
So intensely that all else is ignored like a kitten watching a fish
Then she looks up at you with big round eyes and pleads that you play barbies or ponies with her
My little kitten with lantern eyes that can penetrate into your heart and leave her prints there
When the night comes, still with boundless energy, she waits for her daddy to come home to play with her
She then falls asleep and is swept away upstairs where she curls up to sleep the rest of the night away
