Louder than Words
Oh surprise
I'm confused
from once again
these words you use
Don't you see
My third eye
Can't you tell
From whence I spy
Yes I can see
These reasons within
That churn you so
And make you sin
Yet you still hide
And run from me
You play your game
And think I don't see
These word you speak
Of love professed
Don't match your deeds
I know you best
You hide from me
The truth you feel
Afraid your true self
A lull will reveal
Nothing to fear
If only you'd come clean
Like the way before
Before the hurt was seen

The way I see it...
This is a poem about lies.
When your partner hides themselves, they are putting on a mask that conceals their true self.
Therefore you have doubts as to whether you can trust them or not.
I love your 2nd stanza, about 'The 3rd eye.'
To me that relates to ESP or intuition...which one has with their intimate partners.
I also like the line - among others - 'These words you speak,
Of love professed,
Don't match your deeds,
I know you best.'
Excellent! Not sure about your lover, but the message was clearly read by me.
