Blameless
They say
that girls would do it anyway
they would find a way no matter what
They would sit in a bathtub, using a hanger
I knew of a girl who’s husband
had drowned. She was desperate
to not have the anguished memory left inside of her
so she blindly beat herself against a chair
until the innocent limp memory had passed through her bloody thighs
They say
that the innocent can feel the saline that burns them alive
and that they are fully aware of the pain
as they are brutally torn limb from limb
Their tiny hands no longer attached, until the heart stops beating
The encompassing womb does not aid in comfort for the innocent, but only
to conceal the merciless murder by making us, more comfortable
The gift of life is once again discarded. Like war,
we offer up what should be most precious
all for what is supposed to be
the greater goodness

dark look
Dark look into some painful emotions and places. Very well-written and constructed piece, Geo.
Oh gee..
thanks for saying so Neo! This was probably the most difficult thing I've written to date. The entire thing seems terrible to me.. and no matter how many times I tweak it, I just want to throw it out.. but it was an assignment for a deadline, so it remains a work in progress. I think the subject demands and deserves to be written better than this. I don't feel qualified. Now on to Haiku!
