Shades of Gray
as we each walk our lines, so delicately shaded in grays
of opportunity, circumstance and consequence each day
we all so often stumble, we all so often fall
some say they do so more often than others, some claim they never do at all
as we walk our broken lines on that path to destiny
even if we close our eyes, we will find things so unexpectedly
with so many obstacles and such blurry, winding gray lines
that each of us will eventually fall is only a matter of time
as we navigate across distance
as we navigate through circumstance
as we navigate to consequence
so many things we will find
some of these we will pick up
some must be left behind

So True
I can sense the honesty and truth in your piece.
There is an eventual acceptance in every sadness.
You expressed yourself well here.
All the best,
Eric
To Live in Gray
I think sometimes I live in gray. What a great description and attitude toward life. Your style flows easily... as thoughts. Yes, my line is crooked, but then who said I wanted to walk straight. :)

it's hard to walk a straight line...
in a circular world. and totally unnecessary as nothing in nature moves in a very straight line. it would be silly to think we could always (or ever) move straight ahead. i'm not sure if i'm making sense- i had a point, but think i might have lost it. hopefully you'll get what i'm trying to say.
