What will you do when I am gone?
What will you do when I am gone?
Will you still remember that sunrise I saw at dawn?
Will you still remember the very first day I called?
Will you still remember that first day we touched?
What will you do when I am gone?
Will you still remember those calls that lasted so long?
Will you still remember our very first song?
Will you still remember why you moved on?
What will you do when I am gone?
Will you still remember what drew us so close?
Will you still remember all the places we froze?
Will you still remember our picture of our toes?
What will you do when I am gone?
Will you still remember the day Chanel was born?
Will you still remember the thousands of miles we traveled to be together?
Will you still remember my love?
What will you do when I am gone?
Will you still remember my smile in every photo?
Will you still remember our last touch, our last kiss, our last goodbye?
Will you still remember to even shed a tear sweetie?

Thank you for this poem
This was a very sad, but somehow sweet, poem. The way the narrator cares so much for the one they speak to really plucks a heartstring. It also makes you ponder your own future, and if your loved one will remember you should the same situation arise. Thank you for this poem.
The gentle kiss of time can take away a lifetime.

Thank you
Thank you for your kind words. We all wish sometimes that the other person can feel our pain or the depth of our love for them.

Love is just a word until someone comes along and gives it meaning.
So right
You are so right in saying that. I know how hard it can be when you feel such raw emotions and it hurts even more when they cannot be shared with the one you feel them for. I think it might be a poet's job to know that =] That's how such great poetry is created.
Love is truely given meaning when you've experienced pain.
