Perhaps it’s “a wait”
That “yes” doesn’t have to become “a no”, perhaps it’s “a wait”
Let’s slow everything down before it really deteriorates
There’s so much at stake, much more than we realize
I’m not asking you to give up your dreams, or even compromise
That “yes” doesn’t have to become “a no”, perhaps it’s “a wait”
It was destiny that brought us together, I would say even fate
You wait and pray for that perfect person to arrive
I was living before but now I am alive
That “yes” doesn’t have to become “a no”, perhaps it’s “a wait”
I’m in it for the long run, not a single night date
If there’s one thing I can guarantee you sweetie, is that you have my heart
It has survived all these years even though we were apart
That “yes” doesn’t have to become “a no”, perhaps it’s “a wait”
Never think for a moment our love was a mistake
What seems impractical today will be possible tomorrow
Faith will be rewarded by happiness, giving up will reap sorrow
