WHERE THE LOFTY DEODARS REIGN
Take me back to those divine hills where the lofty deodars reign
With the sight of their greens I want to soothe my weary eyes again
I want to look on the nature's face serene
And feast my eyes with the views so green
The colorful butterflies sporting in the air
From flower to flower, here and there
The snow capped Himalayas look so divine
When the sun smiles on them they look so fine
The air is so fragrant and green is the ground
With the colorful flowers the earth is crowned
The beauteous meadows, the woods with fragrance rife
Teeming and beaming with loveliness and life
I want to hear the songs of birds once more
They ascend in the air with each effort to soar
There peace and joy are surely found
Where the rustling deodars make a magical sound
Listen to their sound, if trees speak elsewhere
They form a sweet music with the cold Himalayan air
They are the guardians of the hills, it’s said
over a wide area there kingdom is spread
Their leaves have a beautiful hue
They look so fresh in the morning dew
Twinkling like stars when the sun leaves
Are the fire flies sparkling in the soft summer eves
Glowing due to their phosphoric lights
The trees look so magical even at nights
The moon shines brightly on the cloudless nights
Bathing the hills are its silver lights
The land of the deodars is called the land of the Gods
And the people are hardworking not useless sods
The Devbhoomi Uttrakhand is surely a paradise
Charming the world by nature’s beauteous surprise
The green land and its fertile fields
Blesses the people with the wealth it yields
I want to fly on the wings of my poetry and fly that far
So take me back to the hills where the lofty deodars are

Long writes on a small subject are very difficult bites
