And I Cried

They came in with dozers,
Made roads where there wasn't any before
Nothings the same, not my world, not anymore
And I cried
They took down the tree line
Where I watched the sunrise
They raped the land, ripped the beauty from my eyes
And I cried
I stood watching, fell to my knees
Lost all hope
The pain is to much,I am unable to cope
And I cried
All day I watched
As tree after tree fell
Watching my heaven turn to hell
And I cried
Oh it isn't my land
I have no say
The landscape changed today
And I cried
I look across the road
All I feel is sorrow
Will only my woods still stand tomorrow
And I cried

Been there done that

FreeSpirit, I know where you are coming from. Good write.

I have a write concerning the same topic titled Interlopers, but it reads more like prose than poetry. Perhaps I will post it anyway.

Crying still

Curtis would love to read what you wrote. My woods will remain woods but it sure caused pain watching tree after tree being dozed down.Thank you for your comment.

And I cried..

The older I get, the more i respect nature...well actually iv'e always loved it > but anyway there's nothing worse than seeing man's destruction on your doorstep. I felt this write strongly.
