A Syllable of Sadness

~A Syllable of Sadness~

A deafening silence
A constricting emptiness
A syllable of sadness

A stirring stillness
An illuminating darkness
I am alone

There is strength in its sanctuary
An inner reflection
of a solitary soul

An undefeatable spirit
which sees clearly
through its own eyes

A process of becoming whole
by learning to be broken
A redeeming
of all that was lost

A reflection seen
in the eyes of another
as is lifted the mist of doubt
In the stillness gazing
tears fall in recognition
We are never alone

I really enjoy reading your

I really enjoy reading your poems! Some of the phrases you use are so perfect. You are so good at conveying the feelings of coming from a place of pain into an acceptance of a bigger picture. I really relate to the line about "...becoming whole by learning to be broken" Very enjoyable!

I Keep Painting

Thank you John! If only it was as easy to do as write! I have found through my hardships that I learn a lot about myself, about who is really there for me, and what I want out of my life. It is something I have to go through regardless, so I try to find the reason in it, to grow from it. Sometimes I wish I could step back and see the bigger picture more clearly...till then I shall just keep painting my little section of it! :)

staying still most times...
It keeps me centered...
And, your words here reminded me of those moments.
Very nice write, as expected. :)

Quiet Moments

Thank you Eric, I am glad to be able to remind you of those moments. I think we all need them. To sit in the quiet and just reflect, we need the silence to be able to still, and hear ourselves above the rush of our lives. Thank you for your kind comments.
