I am just longing for one moment,
one moment with your arms encircling me
one moment of comfort, of peace,
one moment to be safe, whole, loved.
Just hold me and let me cry.
I don’t need to be saved.
I don’t need to be fixed.
I just need you to love me,
without question, without fear, without limit.
Let yourself go, let your guard down,
reach for me and let love overtake you.
Let your heart fill as the tears spill down your face.
Kiss me with those tears still upon your lips,
for if you come to know this love,
you shall never live in a moment of doubt,
never needing to turn, to look and see if I am there,
but simply reach out your hand and know,
that I shall hold it in mine.
You shall no longer walk alone,
nor sleep reaching out into the empty night.
We shall fill our sky with stars,
with dreams of our own making.

I found this to be truly beautiful...
I found this to be truly beautiful, heart-felt, and ever-so-compassionate. I love the way you set the overall mood to this with the first four lines. This piece is very moving, and deeply emotional. It lends an epic-like appeal, and makes a glorious statement. Very few poems have ever moved me in such a pure and refreshing way. Like a fragrant breath of fresh air, this poem enlightened me in so, so many ways. Thanks so much, Jill, for sharing this quality material.
