Goodnight My Love, Goodnight My Angel
~Goodnight My Love, Goodnight My Angel~
As from a nightmare she awakes,
in the dark her small voice cries out.
He says it’s alright Daddy’s here,
there’s nothing that can harm you now.
He draws her close into his arms.
She is now safe in his embrace.
He runs his fingers through her hair,
and everything else falls away.
As she drifts gently off to sleep,
he watches her now peaceful face.
In the circle of his arms she feels at home,
and in her dreams she hears him say,
goodnight my love, goodnight my angel.
She never thought she’d find someone,
whom she could trust with all her heart.
He broke down all the walls she’d built.
He knew he loved her from the start.
She cries as she reaches out for him.
My love, it will not be long now.
He says I can not let you go.
To exist without you I don’t know how.
He draws her close into his arms.
She is now safe in his embrace.
He runs his fingers through her hair,
and everything else falls away.
As she drifts gently off to sleep,
he watches her now peaceful face.
In the circle of his arms she feels at home,
and in his dreams he hears her say,
goodnight my love, goodnight my angel.

I don't wanna miss a thing...
I really like that Aerosmith song...
And, your piece reminded me of it...
It's an appreciation of those moments...
The tender love of our family...
There's nothing greater I think...
It's God's love moving us... through...
The embrace, touch and sympathy of our family.
Thanks for posting!
Eric
A Haven
Thanks Eric! I also like that song...most anything Aerosmith actually.
I think family, our love for them and theirs for us is one of our greatest strengths, it gives us a haven from the rest of the world.
Thank you for taking the time to read my work, and for your thoughtful comments as well.
