the time has come
to start my new life;
married 22 years
now no longer a wife.

it was "cindy & joe"
for twenty-nine years;
knowing happiness and joy
sorrow and tears.

from teen to adult
we journeyed together;
then hit stormy seas
we just couldn't weather.

ann & hope romance,
high school and proms;
marriage and children
then the dropped bombs.

equally but different
we did both transform
to very changed people
from our everyday norm.

actions cause reactions,
that's a proven fact.
resisting no longer
we altered on impact.

becoming a stranger
in many people's eyes;
barely recognizing myself
in this new disguise.

boarding a roller coaster
to leave the mundane behind;
from my virtuous position
i temporarily resigned.

working on righting the wrongs
of the past couple years,
there's smiles on the horizon;
coming to replace my tears!!!
