so I talked to angi
and she told me straight out:
"You can be overbearing,
with out a doubt!"

she did preface it with;
"you know I love you, but..."
hearing it from her
wasn't a kick in the gut.

when we analyzed my actions
of how I'm "in your face";
she advised I back off
and give you your space.

the words she spoke
were extremely concise;
so I'll try my hardest
to take her advice.

I didn't know til just recently
you still think about kelly.
you said she's the one
who caused butterflies in your belly!?

I so know what that's like
because you give them to me;
and no matter how I try
I can't set them free.

I like when you disclose
what you think and feel.
you open your hardened exterior
that keeps your emotions concealed.

I know you've been hurt
by love in the past
maybe that’s what has created
the tough layers that have amassed.

when burned enough times
one tries to keep from the flame.
I can only hope one day;
that your heart, I can tame!

so for the time being,
I won't hold my breath.
because I am sure
that it would cause my death!
