Atlanta

What is this that I see

Before my eyes so beautifully

Here's a city I've come to love

A place called home and I succumb

City of the South, City of Dreams

A city where all is happening

I can't resist the sweet iced tea

nor the home cooked meal of biscuits and gravy

Cornbread, Stew, Chicken Fry, Meatloaf, and Ribs

Grandma's secret recipe of Peach Cobbler, I always get first dibs

Everyone here always says "Hello"

They smile and wave as we pass and go

I never know who they are but they comfort me so

It's that Southern Hospitality that if you visit you'll know

The city itself sparkles and shines

With gleaming lights and flashing windows, where you can shop and dine

Upscale, downscale, whatever you want it's here

This city will charm you every time you are near

Come during Fall and the leaves paint Red, Orange, and Yellow

If it's Winter and it snows consider yourself a lucky fellow

Spring will bring a sneeze, but with it the pleasant sight and smell of blossoming flowers

Summer will bring you to Lake Lanier or downtown in the park where there is shooting high water showers

Make sure you take the time to enjoy the outdoors

Climb a 100 year oak tree or raft down the Chattahoochee with if you like a pack of 4

Or run up to the top of Stone Mountain where you will stand in utter bliss

Of the marvelous sight of the skyline at dusk, reach over to give your sweety a kiss

This place is my hope, my happiness, my dreams, and my home

Where great minds live and great events unfold

So welcome to Atlanta and enjoy your stay

But beware, you may not want to leave at the end of the day

Atlanta

Described Atlanta, quite well.
I live outside of Atlanta, GA, but I could relate to your mention of interests in this poem.
