Tender Perishing
~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~
I feel
a tender perishing
come due to our
regret.
I can't quiet
reach the point
of no turning back. . .
& yet
the consequence
of this seems
overwhelming, now
to me.
Even as
loves' sad creature
fades into
the shadow of good-bye
& tempts our souls
to grieve. . .
with trembling hand
once more
outstretched
as if to say
or plead. . .
I'm so yours,
for the taking
so yours
for the taking
& let this
pass away
from me.
