Crimson Kiss

Daydreaming of a distant place,
Forgetting your lovesick face,
Never looking around,
Never heard a sound.
Transfer of energy, from you into me.
I hit the ground; you took the truck for me.
I saw you there, covered in blood,
And recognized a color of love.

By your side in seconds flat,
I had to ask why you did that.

You mumbled your eternal love,
Bequeathed on me a kiss of blood,
And now that you are fading fast,
I wish that kiss were not the last.

It's odd... I never heard you scream.
But that doesn't prove it to be a dream.
Time moved so slow,
Telling me to let go.
These tears, an emotion I now understand,
Still holding your cold, motionless hand,
Laying here, covered in blood,
A crimson shade of late-proven love.

By your side as hours passed,
Alone alive, but loved at last.

Soft, sweet, and final; your kiss of blood.
Then, now, and forever; our eternal love.
I can still feel your bloodstained kiss,
The taste will never leave my lips.

As you rest in peace, remember this:
On my death returns your blood-laced kiss.
