Might Be Blind

Someone is reading the biography of a mangy dog
He understands the fleas and wandering haggard
He processes behind thick-framed glasses costing a weeks worth of groceries
But what to buy anyway

Someone pretends they are blind
Says there is too much to see
She throws her hands up because there is no use
She hopes she has plenty to talk about

Someone is eating cake
He can feel the sweetness course through him
The tender moist covered in the consistency of toothpaste
It is all a celebration

She peeks and sees a mangy dog eating cake

yes

i've seen that cake eating dog, too, and i really enjoyed the poem. welcome to the site.
