Underpraised Lacrimae Rerum
Misery is an untiring confidant
At no time be timorous of this chum
For what is weighty must ail...
One demerit is so vast
That all endured is not enough
To throw off one guilt and lapse,
For that is the spread between
The human and divine...
Have fondness for a heartache
For it is the salutary backer,
Encourager and adviser,
Illuminator and reviser...
The ache is the greatest grant
To be deserving of it is the brave chore
And, betrothing it is the finest furore...
To bear it for the pitch of perfection of
The unready and taken of guard souls
Joining it with the Guiltless Mender...
And, making use of it for the mellowing
And mollifying the inferior version of
This passing and wayward world...

Tragedy of life
Dorothy, your poem is better sweet, thank you for sharing.
We all have our “cross to bear” knowing not why or for how long but persevere in the knowledge that we will not be made to carry a load that we cannot handle. Misery and heartache are only temporary residence in the house of faith. Human spirit is beget from the divine not intended or allowed to languish in pain.

Suffering without faith, hope and love is loathsome...
Ron, thank you for reading and commenting. I do agree with you, and I know you would also reaffirm as I did in the last stanza that suffering is a privilege when it is joined with the Guiltless Mender - Our Savior for His sacrosanct purposes. Sufferings become valuable and serviceable only if they are endured in faith, hope and most importantly in love and are completely consecrated to God. "To know sufferings is to know Christ" - Doctor of the Church, St John of the Cross.

THE GRAVITY OF SIN...
ABSOLUTE TRUTH - WE ALL DESERVE TO SUFFER EVERYTHING THAT BEFALLS US... FOR ONE WILLINGLY COMMITTED SIN - WHEN WE REALIZE THE UNLIMITED DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE HUMAN AND DIVINE - BETWEEEN SINFULNESS AND HOLINESS...
THEN WE WILL EVEN WELCOME SUFFERING AS A SANCTIFYING FORCE.
THANK YOU FOR THESE VERY CONSOLING REMINDERS...
WE'LL BE PRAYING FOR YOUR SPEEDY RECOVERY...HAVE A GREAT RESTFUL SUMMER.

Painfully True!
"The ache is the greast grant..." I agree wholeheartedly. To embrace every pain and make it a sacrifice of love is the true meaning of life. Most folks I know complain about their slightest itch, yet never seem to be happy or enjoy life...they let life pass them by in complete misery ( and bring misery to others around them!). Then I also know many folks seriously ill with pain beyond measure in every part of their bodies, yet, they are happy, smiling and do good will towards others despite of their pain...these people truly experience "joy" by forgetting their own misery and helping others, as the "Guiltless Mender" offered for us His pain on the Cross.
Thank you for expressing this in such an artist masterpiece...I'll have more to share with by buddies.
