The Silence That Silenced The Foe
To ask
And not to receive,
To ask
And to contend with the contrary,
To ask
And to bear the weight of obscurity,
To ask
And to strive against the mysterious,
To ask
And to meet with silence...
To ask
And not to receive,
Is to receive...
To ask
And never receive
Is to be favored
With the greatest favor of all...
It is to be whole...
For to ask
And never receive,
Is to be
A pure victim of love...

Unanswered prayers are the most powerfully answered prayers!
Thank you for this great poem. I absolutely agree with you Dr. K that we must have humility to receive gratefully everything from God's most loving hands since He gives us all that is the best for us spiritually and eternally. We show our love for Him when we accept both joys and suffering. Indeed, His silence, as you said in your title, destroys the attempts of the Evil One to lead us astray. God bless you!
Great Message For All The Complainers
Be grateful for all... count your blessings for HE knows what's best for us! Now, take it to heart & remember this when times are hard. Clever title and poem but the ending is so surprising yet truly profound. Thank you and God bless.
What an awesome capture of a
What an awesome capture of a great "hidden" truth!! Loving God for who He is.....not for what He does or doesn't do. I have suffered with dibilitating migraines for 10 years now .... I have often been asked "aren't you angry at God?" I was I guess at first.....the first few years..... but it really is true that you enter into a place of rest..... growth..... where you love God because He is so incredibly awesome. He has done all I need for eternity.....He need do no more to be worthy of our worship! I still hope for a miracle.... but it truely is a gift to find sweetness ....right where you are!
Thanks for the beautiful poem.....so resfreshing!
"To suffer or to die!" - St. Teresa of Avila
Thank you Jean for your kind, insightful and well-reasoned comment, which is genuinely appreciated. Indeed, our sufferings are of inestimable - eternal value if properly understood and used. True greatness of Christianity lies in the fact that it does not necessarily seek a supernatural cure for sufferings but a supernatural use of it (e.g. offering them for conversion of others). Undoubtedly, sufferings, which God in His unfathomable wisdom and love allows are a great privilege, and have an infinitely purifying and sanctifying power. The greatest followers of Christ frequently stated that they would prefer to die rather than live without sufferings. Be assured that I will keep you in my prayers that the Divine Physician may heal you, so that you may be still a more fruitful worker in His vineyard. May the Merciful and Omniscient One grant you superabundant Grace. Faithfully in Christ, Dorothy
