Self-defeating Trickster...
Novel stimuli entice the eyes
Constant confines within newness
Useless anticipating for the soul to rise
For it is starving only for love and trueness.
Undeviating itch not to miss a chance
For the would-be monetary takings
It is the self-promotor's hungry glance
It is the castle in the sand in the makings.
Evader of silence, inapt to stay put
Earnest seeker of renown and recognition
The seed of desolation taking its roots
A slave of unpromising fruition.
Unattracted to Invisible Reality
Allured to self-worship and gain
Trapped in imagined self-import & "originality"
Impervious, by degrees, to others' pain.
Impressed by undertakings of figures vain
Pretense, craftiness, sneakiness color the game
Intruder, offender with no dose of shame
Touchy, thorny about its fictitious reign.
Reckless purveyor of lies
Permitter of uncontrolled craze to rise
Unwilling to grow free, and untie
The leash from the Father of lies...
Can one swimming with the stream of lie
Harvest fruits? Be in high spirits?
When immersed in tides of lie
Can ever rise and fly?
And, the innermost workings be known
By envious and tainted eye?
The lips that lie?
The one unfamiliar with wings to fly?
Alas! Abolish the lie
And, with Truth comply...
Not by envy, greed & presumption dry
Reform... not die...
Dream and dream of the royal crown
Solemn sacrifice...
The lilies white...
In your sight...
Search for Paradise...
Seek the royal crown...
At His Feet be renown...

Ah Yes, if one could only abolish the LIES... not be "tricked" by the Father of lies into becoming a "trickster"... Profound message of wisdom. Very difficult task in this world today, but NOT impossible with God's constant help and healing. Takes persistence, courage, and living in The Spirit to overcome the temptations.
We all enjoyed the last very wise advised lines....

"Search the royal crown"...
"At His Feet be renown."..
For being "renown at His Feet" is what really matters in this life and the next...nothing what we do on own...self interests mean andything and are worthless for eternal salvation.

Oh! What A Tangled Web We Weave...
Yes, the "trickster" indeed is self defeating! Hurts others by their lies and misdeeds tremendously , but mostly inflicts the pain and ugly stain of sin upon his or her immortal soul. Genuinely an expertly composed expose. Brilliantly stated solutions in the last stanza. Love the way you carry through your agenda with poise and great style.
Blinded By Their Own Ego!
Captivated by your description of characters we deal with every day. They are so blinded by greed, lust, money...that they see nothing else, including their own demise and doom. I've lived long enough to see many a person destroyed by their own wrong doings and choices. Not to say that I think I'm perfect (far from it!!!), but I try to take a step back very often and examine my choices in life, to see if I really am "practicing what I preach" to my children.
A superbly stated ending...a "heavenly" solution.

Abolish the LIE!
Many a great line here...all aiming at the " itch " of human fraility. Again the last stanza provides the ONE True answer...a solution to resolve the wretched mess our world has gotten into. If we be at His Precious Bloody Feet, there would be no temptation to sin. Great job! Ship's ahoy, be back soon.
