Come Again?
What can the four corners of the earth
Lay at one's feet?
Place in one's hands?
What can the wide world
Offer and proffer
Propound or expound?
What can the sole world
Shower upon thee?
Dish out for me?
What can the terrestrial space
Lavish on one even
If holding one in the highest place?
What else can the four corners of the earth
Put forward but dust, decay or dirt?
Encasing one as a wild lion
With a flood of lionizers
Craftily inventing celebrities
Guarding slyly for shabby call popularities.
What can it offer if acclaiming one the most?
And, what one fails to win,
Sell at a loss when despising its glitters the most?
To be an enemy of useless weightiness
Satisfied with little or no wealth
Unnoticed... overlooked
Perhaps even in grim neediness
No longer creature of this earth -
Undeviating from timeless wealthiness.

I agree you can be the greatest and never be acknowledged!
Again, enjoying your newest work! This beautiful verse reminded me of my wise grandfather who used to say, "all the success and riches you can accumulate in this world, mean nothing in the light of eternity!" Very powerful words and reminder. Thank you...
