Barrenness
To fail to set sights on the good which is Highest
What debasing, and mortifying gamble
Is it not evil itself?
I get the feeling of sadness, my Lord...
To be pleased with soul's poorness
What spiritless weakness,
Same as holding in contempt
The beauty of
Much to be looked after trueness
Much to be fostered meekness,
I get the feeling of sorrow, my Lord.
To be a stranger to what is faultless
Being outlander to that which is spotless
Isn't it a housing for aches useless?
A shelter to struggles worthless?
I get the feeling of grief, my Lord...
To be gutless in allowing evil
To litter and pollute the soul
What a fabricator of hideous coloring and error
Shameless suppliers of evil in the world.
I get the feeling of grief, my Lord.
To heed to gluttonous demons of the flesh
What enslavers of damaging baggage!
To turn to flesh - to hide in the flesh
To turn away from You, my Lord...
(I get the feeling of stomach ache) -
I get the feeling of heartache, my Lord.
Sin - the voracious thief
While there is no desire for what is just and right
There is for all time selfish - injurious greed.
Sin - the voracious thief of joy and time...
I get the feeling of sorrow, my Lord...
Such a throbbing waste
Aching heart bleakness
Such a burning of the seat of thought
Incorrigible,
Unpersuadable? weakness
Unpromising... dark... fleshiness
Unsteadiness and unbefitting weakliness
Culpable unconcern
Culpable ignorance
Diffused complicity to evil
Diffused participation in error
Diffused complicity to final terror...
Difuseness of support to loss...
Fertility of fatalities...
At what cost?

Gluttonous demons of the flesh!
What pinheads!!! They don't know that they are destroying their own souls by staying in the slime of mortal sin. Hell will be overcrowded for sure! Enjoyed these powerful messages and the skillful technique which made me dig in deeper into my own soul. Doc you are a dynamo! We love ya!
Lawless and destructive self-indulgence!
Dr. Kardas, what a delightsome afternoon perusing your newest and compelling posts! This poem stands out for its chastisement of the lawless and destructive self-indulgence. It is written with your passionate concern, deep conviction and style that make the serious reader put on their "listening ears." There is indeed this widespread and blind disregard for personal responsibility and poverty of awareness what sin is (fornication... pre-marital relations and perversions that are blanketly accepted as "normal"). This is the result of moral relativism, which is worship of even the most abominable personal desire and convenience! Quite weighty ending for each one of us bears the weight of responsibility for all committed crimes either by perpetrating them or failing to speak out against them. As always, superb compositions of thoughts.
A Very Merry Christmas to you and your family from all of us!
hello doctor...
I've been part of this site for a while, and I only stumbled across one of your writes only now! I loved this...no beating round the bush here, well said and frank to the bone.
a good reminder for everyone who reads...that at the end of it all....are sins, major or minor, really worth it? thanks for sharing.
peace
ps: if thats you in your profile pic, let me just say, you look so like my Irish grandmother in her day...it's actually scary! (she was a beautiful and very famous actress from the Abbey theater, Dublin) so that's a compliment :)
~Hell is Not a Reality Show~
Dorothy,
I believe the complete absence of God is Hell. Hell is a void that cannot be filled. One can have everything and have nothing. Hell is deceptive, it lures souls that believe they can benefit from greed. To have everything, and not have God, results in complete isolation. Bodies in complete isolation must grind their teeth and twist; like a plant that has not been watered or cannot find the light. To be spiritually dry would be like bones grinding on bones.
It is so uplifting to read your thoughts. You make it very clear that hearts that surrender to evil are responsible for the terror of our nights. Sin is an infection that spreads like wildfire. To recognize sin and ignore it, is to sin.
Sin is not a reality show, where everyone is entertained by its prey and its loss.
Life is a battle that we have already won; the ending has already been written. It is our spiritual responsibility to know our eternal leader; God. If we cannot live with God, we will live without God, in a black void.
When one part of the Body suffers, we all suffer. We must come to God, like a child. We must abandon self to find God. God works within us and through us. We do not fish for God, we surrender to God.
Your words are compelling and your heart is so loving. I am proud to be your sister.
Sisters in Christ,
Kathy
A Fountain of Spiritual Wealth-Fertility of Fatalities Indeed!
I've been voraciously reading your pearls of wisdom on Twitter and have followed your trail to this site. Your works are embeded and seeded with great wisdom... enjoyng every word and learning a great deal for there's a preponderance of provoking thought in every line. MUST find time to comment more often.
Candidly, I find this poetry to be your great forte...Truthful, bold & blunt...just my style!
Blessings of comfort, peace & joy. TwoPence
God wishes that all should become holy...
Thank you for this wonderful act of kindness in commenting on my written output. These supportive messages are of special value since I never quite "hear" what I write (as I do in my native Polish language). When I stepped on the USA soil in 1981 after escaping the Communist regime in Poland (got political asylum here), I did not know English at all. Although I publish, what they call "scholarly" books and also "poetry" in English, to some extent, it still feels like composing "music" and not being able to hear all the sounds clearly enough.
Thankfully, there is this Omnipotent - Omnipresent - Omniscient Composer, Who makes sure that some of the sounds come out right. If only I were a better listener...
Having said that, I am glad that these words reach the readers' ears and in all hopefulness also their souls... For me in all my undertakings (and here I will use the words of my famous country man Czeslaw Milosz) "everything has a double existence, both in time and when time shall be no more."
Regarding my style... I cannot tolerate anyone - of course! including myself fogging the TRUTH!
Wishing you and your loved ones superabundance of blessings and spiritual riches from the Infinite One on His Birthday and for the New Year!
With a very cordial friendship in Christ,
Dorothy
P.S. I invite you to write on the contact information given on my profile page.

I am not clever enough to find the words to express my thoughts on this poem... but i will say that i think it is brilliant! all sin, small or big, is evil, and partaking in sin deters us from fully experiencing the great and awesome power, grace and love of the Almighty Father. He is willing, but our disobedience and love of worldly pleasures destroy us and keep us distant. A heart without God, without reverence and obedience is desolate indeed. There are only ever two choices - right or wrong, good or evil, God or the devil... our actions reflect who we choose to serve each day. No questions asked - it is One or the other.
The deadliest of the deadly sins...
Your reflective remarks incisively and accurately crystallized the spectacle of human existence, either we opt for the highest and unimaginable spiritual riches by serving exclusively or fully God, or we foolishly and by degrees slip into the horrors of hell. Pride is the deadliest of the deadly sins; it is the sin of attempting to be as God. Human beings produce out of their own imagination, impulses and whims the perilous standards by which they live. As a French mystic and philosopher, Simone Weil, pointedly reaffirmed, it is better to face now here on earth the hell we create for ourselves by refusing to fully serve, and obey God than to live in an imaginary paradise. "Even if we could be like God" as she continues "it would be better to be mud which obeys God" since He always wishes for our highest spiritual/eternal benefits, and wants all to be participants in His infinite treasures. And, we possess anything only if it first passes through God.
Your kind and thoughtful commenting is truly valued and appreciated.
Very cordially in Christ,
Dorothy
A RARE SAVANT OF RATICINATION...
A MYRIAD OF THANKS TO OUR VETERAN OF VIRTUEOUS VERTICAL THOUGHTS EXPRESSED SO GALLANTLY IN ALL YOUR WORKS OF POETIC ART.
MAY THE CHRIST CHILD BRING YOU THE HOLIEST OF BLESSINGS THIS COMING YEAR.
MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM THE POETRY CIRCLE OF FRIENDS,
No egocentric but Christo-centric...
Unequivocally, without being vertically oriented or God focused, our existence becomes pointless. Living in the darkness of mortal sins is soul-destroying; it is the degradation of a human person. And, what we have only accomplished for ourselves, dies with us, but what we have been able - by the power of divine grace and out of love only - do for God and the neighbors lives forever!
Thank you for your kind words... even though I do not merit them, I appreciate your kind hearts...
May God continually bless you all...
Dorothy
~Reflections into God~
Dorothy,
God is like an infinite mirror, we should see ourselves in Him. The sun hits the mirror with such intensity that it shines as the star of Bethlehem. We are drawn toward this mirror in the east because we are part of its Light. We are children of the Light, we move where God moves.
Sin is a pollution that makes man believe that he is the carrier of the mirror and that life reflects his will. Satan sometimes shines like a mighty mirror, and distorts our image. Thoughts distorted by Satan are filled with false hopes and promises.
There is only one way to be in God and that is through God.
I often wonder if the stars are children of the Light waiting to become one with God. We are so drawn to the heavens. The stars make us look up. Their place in the sky directs our path.
Mirrors, they can reflect goodness and they can reflect evil. It is our purpose to know and recognize the difference between His light and the flames of darkness. We can recognize God's light in compassion and love.
The flames of darkness arise in the eyes of those that desire to play God.
I felt the strong desire to paint this picture. I brush with words and God ignites their meaning in hearts.
Happy New Year 2010!
Kathy
To love is to will the good of another...
Kathy,
Thank you for taking time and painting this picture with original sensibility. God has placed in each soul a spark of infinite intelligence, an attraction toward the Good, the Light, the Immutable Truth and Love. The dignity of each person is rooted in his/her creation in the image & likeness of God. Human beings having been wounded in their nature by original sin however, are subject to error & are inclined to evil in exercising their freedom. Every sin (or unrepentant state of the soul) either damages or destroys that image of God within. The act of faith is the unconditional surrender of the human reason to the sovereign authority of the self-revealing God or simply put it's our grateful response to God's love. God sends the Holy Spirit - the sanctifying grace only to those who obey Him (as opposed to actual graces which He sends to all). It is the Holy Spirit who strengthens and illuminates human beings to live as children of light through all that is good, right and true revealed by Jesus Christ. The ascendancy of grace in us is what bestows absolute authority on God in us. A Christian attunement to or consonance with God - the constant contemplation of the whole Christ, through the Holy Spirit, transforms the beholder as a whole into the image of Christ. Entering into eternal life is contingent on the adherence to "all saving truth" found in the Sacred Scricptures or the "moral teaching" - on an unbending compliance to divine precepts, which were imparted to protect the greatness and dignity of each person - full observance of which guards his/her image and likeness of God. Authentic obedience to divine precepts is impossible however, without a sincere love for God and one's neighbor. Jesus shows that the precepts must not be understood as a minimum limit not to be gone beyond, but rather as a path involving a moral and spiritual journey toward perfection, at the heart of which is love. A person who remains in a rebellious and unrepentant (unredeemed) state is God's enemy, cut off from eternal life. That is, those who are not properly orientated towards their supernatural end, are deprived of the right to Heaven that sanctifying grace confers. And, by allowing themselves to be ruled by sin and disordered passions do the ultimate irredeemable harm to themselves, and also do harm to society by opening a dorr to every type of moral disorder.
Only charity distinguishes the children of God (children of Light) from children of the devil (children of darkness). To be God's children - the children of Light, we must strive to have a pure heart by being purified from sin (avoiding sin); be detached from ourselves, be free from inordinate or disordered desires, have a well formed conscience, and be pursuers of all that is good and right in accordance with Divine Truth ( to obtain deeper understanding of this doctrinal and consoling Truth in Its entirety is absolutely necessary). To know this Luminous Truth, to deserve this Light from God, we must acquire the ability to love ("If you love Me you will keep my commands"), and never seek to please those who unrepentantly oppose God or seriously deviate from His Truth for they are not friends of God. Jesus Himself stressed that only those who do the will of God are my brothers, sisters and mother. To be supernaturally effective therefore, a person must die to him/herself... To live a clean life, have a pure soul and the right intention of pleasing God only out of our love for Him, is a life worthy of human dignity. Without love, nothing is pleasing to God. And, love covers a multitude of sins...
Wishing you boundless joy... boundless life of grace...
Faithfully in Christ,
Dorothy
~Love, the Loving Truth~
"To love is to will the good of another."
This sentence alone...has moved mountains in my being.
Your example, becomes my example; ambassadors for Christ.
I will share your thoughts with others this week.
I don't know where I am going, but I'm moving in with my Father.
In Christ's Love,
Kathy

YOUR POEM ISNT GOOD
THIS POEM ISNT GOOD I DONT LIKE YOU GOD IS A LIE
Pagans! The Eternal Losers!
Doc, It only goes to show you, strike the right chord and the pagan pinheads rear their ugly heads! They hate The Truth because it shows them their pitch of darkness! No one has to tell you how wise you are precisely because you truly serve Christ. Your wisdom so cleverly put into words has helped me a great deal over the years and not to mention friends with whom I have shared your masterful poetry!
Kudos to you Doc!
God bless!
Rich & the gang..
BTW Your recent tweets really hit the political nail on the head!
Disbelief in God is a diabolical illusion.
Richie,
Irrefutably, whether we talk about birds, relationships or the theory of relativity, we talk about God; experience of God is inescapable.
Atheistic position is a nightmare - an abysmal emptiness: "Whoever does not believe will experience nothing, and whoever has not experienced anything will also perceive nothing" - St. Anselm.
I would gladly combat the erroneous supposition and nihilistic assertion of God's inexistence, but when there is a great possibility of the demonically perverted will, it would be ill-fitted and futile to respond. It is far more favorable to resort to prayer...
My best to you and the "gang"!
