All Or Nothing Wastrel
Burning with quenchless thirst to be hastily "first"
While the mighty Wind relentlessly blowing
Over rocky grounds, thirsty lands...
Verdant soils, potent seeds ceaselessly sowing
Undying riches abiding in Grand Hands
While reckless spender refuses veracious growing.
Rights unwise, splendor of Love is not declaring,
Keenly welcoming the finery of service flaring;
The purest elation born from self-forgetting -
Lucid sign of the luxury of love begetting,
Bravery of sacrifice and self-denial is bearing;
Those magnificent garments insistently wearing.
While the evil one allures with perils of ambition -
The wrecker of grandeur of valor and honesty,
Falsely pledging to eyes untrained, still obtusely willing
Life frictionless, painless and hugely thrilling,
The lavish Hand invites to Feast on wholesome erudition -
The banquet of unsurpassed fulfillment, glorious fruition...
To take delivery
Of this Light revealing,
Relapse into silence!
For love is not merely a feeling -
Rapturously appealing...
To take in this Gloriole endearing
Be still!
In unbendable willing...
All-absorbing devotion
In self-serving commotion,
Consigning to oblivion that
Famine spiritual
Comes to be ruin perpetual...
The pernicious bane - unfathomable...
The food unsavory - inedible...
Still, skies blue are convivial
Omnipresent and hospitable
Though often invisible...
The insatiable thirst
To be loftily "first"
The icon of rapacity,
Step by step famished
By toxic audacity,
Expandable vivacity;
Robotized by jazzed up jobbery
And, unblushing robbery...
Incurably erring,
A covering to conceal
Knavishly wearing,
Though moving fast
Is still dead last!
Hardened defrauder
Luridly uncaring...

"There is nothing outside a man which by going into him can defile him; but the things which come out of a man are what defile him. For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, fornication, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, licentiousness, envy, slander, pride, foolishness. All these evil things come from within, and they defile a man" - Mark 7:15, 20-23.

Bright as a button!
The serious sin of uncontrolled selfishness and desire for fame or success... what fatal shallowness! Some people just stay childishly immature, never knowing what it means to truly grow up. Doc, your wisdom and poetic genius always put us in the state of amazement! Thanks for another quick-witted poem (like the shrewd title!).
Richie & the gang!
Worldling's Debacle...
Richie,
Your courteous and kind messages are always gratefully received. Verily, only those individuals who embrace a charitable life can truly believe; faith, charity and thus valid hope are inseparable. Habitual selfishness or unrestrained and wrongheaded ambition as any grave transgression by degrees destroy charity. A person is genuinely free only if the choices of his or her will, are not slavish to sin, undue aspirations and faults. True knowing therefore is always separable from self-serving needs or interests. Only through the eyes of charity, we truly see and truly know; Love and Truth are perpetually inseparable. True greatness of a soul consists of learning to be nothing - abolishing the ego, the self within us, the sin and error which stop the Light... Moral obligations and duties were given to eradicate the false self (e.g. St. John of the Cross, Simone Weil). Those who do not consent to become nothing in order to be everything in Christ, need idols like money, power, recognition etc. As you rightly stated, holding on to selfish agenda inevitably leads to a markedly callow, manipulative and nonadult actions, and ultimately forlorn and unblessed existence since self-centeredness and self-glorification (as opposed to self-giving) close the door to special divine graces. Woe to those who refuse to be trained for eternity...
May the Omnipotent One help us to become genuine Christians... D.K.
Unbalanced, hot-headed minds!
Splendid examination of the danger for the notorious ambitious person, careerist or desirer. Those unfortunate souls are pathetic indeed for in the final analysis they injure themselves the most, sacrificing all for their own intemperate needs and losing all including their own ultimate happiness. Enjoyed the steady stream of insights, their internal coherence, the necessary conclusion, the smoothness of the first stanzas, and then the abrupt stylistic change spiced with unexpected and sharp guidance. This is really a notable dance of insights and styles. Dr. Dorothy, I am sure I am not the first one to tell you that each of your creations is a stylistic wonderland yet your touch is always detected for each of them contains richness in weight and force. Again, another explosive and terrific finale! "Be still in unbendable willing"... one of the most striking and instructive lines. Bravo for directing attention to the horrifying triteness and banality prominent in today's brainsick culture!
Intoxicated with inimical wants...
Grateful thanks for your commentaries always delivered with invaluable incisiveness and considerateness. Unequivocally, the mark of a great soul is to favor courageous and glorious demands of virtuous life as opposed to being engrossed in oneself and one's own affairs espousing plight marked by unquenchable greed. We can possess only when we renounce... and we cannot possess anything unless it passes through the Author of all that is infinitely good. The essential question is not what is the ambition but what is its origin - whether it is inspired by the Author of love or it comes from the voice of the evil one. Sadly, there are a multitude of souls who are easily fooled and deluded by the arch Enemy, and find a whole host of unreasonable excuses to continue on the way of self-destruction. There are too many reasons to distrust human nature alone, and innocence indeed ends as soon as the "I" appears - the old pride of the Fall (e.g. Czeslaw Milosz, G.K. Chesterton).
Let the Word of God dwell in us richly...
With all blessings - Dorothy
~Inherit the Earth~
Dorothy,
Ambition without Christ is a runaway train. We are living in a runaway train these days. The engineers of our living are blindly taking us to their mountaintop and sacrificing us to their gods. The god of greed has seeded the minds of humanity with the weeds of evil. Our garden of thoughts are being choked out by man's debris. Our minds are overgrown with selfish desires and false inspirations. We are desperately searching for the Light that will untangle our fears and free us to mourn the death of self. We will move toward the Light. All living things move toward the Light. We weep and gnash our teeth for the Light to move within us and grant us peace.
You are my sister. I need a sister to model Christ for me. You wear Christ with such style. You make Christ's love so fashionable.
You gently tug and guide me, but only I can untangle my woes and free His Spirit to rescue me.
"Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called children of God." -Matthew 5:9-
With all His Love,
Kathy

Offense as greed or selfishness supposes a victim who pays...
Kathy,
Your consideration for others and generous comments are always valued and appreciatively accepted. As we know, all that is changelessly beneficial and good belongs exclusively to God: His Mercy, His Wisdom, His All-powerful Grace... Someone once appropriately expressed that our good deeds are used by the Eternal as seeds for planting trees in the Garden of Eden; thus each of us creates by responding generously to divine grace our own Paradise. What is requisite is to uncover all that which deforms us, and recognize that perilous desires must not only be despised but extinguished by eternally favorable desires. Human beings are weak because of earthly/transitory desires and searching for inferior "goods", and also the aptness for right thinking is extensively incapacitated on account of grave sins or immoral actions. For every action in order to be a right action must be a moral stimulant to even greater self-sacrificing action.
Wishing you abundance of grace and strength in your journey of faith.
Sister in Christ... Dorothy

LEAVING YOU FOR NOW WITH A SMILE IN MY HEART. BEFORE WE PARTED WAYS, I ASKED FOR SOME FEEDBACK ON THE LESSONS LEARNED FROM YOUR WORKS. THERE WERE LITERALLY THOUSANDS OF ACCOLADES, BUT THE ONE ADJECTIVE THAT STICKS TO MIND IS "BRAINEST" AND THE PHRASE; ' DR. K. IS A VIGILANT SCULPTOR OF GOD'S WORD...AND USES POETIC LICENSE TO WELD AND MEND OUR SOULS WITH SCRUPULOUS VERSE."

Relapsed into silence!
Dear Christian Poetress,
You've managed to silence this longtime Churchman with your brillance of poetic wisdom. I can only sit back and relapse into deep contemplation over your Christ-like posture. I can only say, I wish my sermons were 1/1000th the power of your poetic messages.
Taking time to read all and will comment when I can recooperate from my temporary amnesia!
What I have seen so far, I can only say that these selections are of Heavenly calibre...and inspired by the Holy Spirit.
Sending you God's blessings, and thank you Dr. Kardas for your
staunch stand for Chirst and the Truth of His Light.
Rev. Chris
A Heart Full Of Thanks...
Dear Reverend Chris,
For obvious reasons, I feel quite unworthy... nonetheless am a grateful recipient of your encouragingly written comments; your exceptional kindliness is irreplaceably inspiriting while some remarks delivered in a humorous vein appeal decidedly to my heart... for they are a precious fusion of humility and humor - the secret of the saint's advantage, victory and glory. Your affirmation is also distinctly esteemed since it is coming from someone who is a revered worker in God's vineyard, and is a "Fisher of men."
BTW I am sure that your sermons are full of substance and are of the finest quality!
Wishing you continued superabundance of grace in your apostolic work.
May we pursue the Infinite Good ceaselessly... loving and knowing more...
In Solidarity with Christ... Dorothy

Whether you live on a simple island, or the largest country in the world...BEWARE of the ones YOU choose to represent and run your governments. Very wise advice here Dr. Kardas, The future may reveal downfalls and up-risings if we fail to heed the WARNINGS.
GOD's commands must never be cast aside to fulfill people's selfish godless wants.
This work seems to reflect world wide chaos,
God is our only hope in this mess...

Treble warfare against mind, heart and will.
Thank you again for sympathetic and like-minded observations, which are greatly appreciated. As you affirmed, true power and undying benefits ensue from absolute love of God. That is why, vehemently combating all that is contrary to His reign and His life in us is imperatively required... and supreme. And, that warfare takes place (interiorly) and continuously in our minds conquering sins of mind (nebulous, anomalous ideations, pride etc), involving inseparably warfare that of the heart for God demands our hearts completely - wanting all or nothing, and finally it also impartibly entails defeating that will of the old Adam. God must be loved supremely and supernaturally (our love for Him infused with the omnipotent sanctifying grace). Needless to say (and to put it, overly simplistic!) He must be loved more than everything else... if not, one is never truly successful nor victorious.
May He rescue us from being exiguous converts...DKK
