I know it’s not supposed to be this way.

I know I’m supposed to…
Whatever.

I have given up on supposed to’s.

I’m supposed to guard my heart and my 401K
I’m not doing too hot with either.
I’m supposed to have insurance on my house, my dog, my life, my health, my car, my mother’s funeral, while I’m supposed to save like crazy with the thought that no one will be there for me. That the economy is bad and I must be protected.

I’m supposed to take care of my own above all others.
I’m supposed to be prudent while I’m supposed to have all the latest phone, TV, video equipment.

I think it is supposed to be so different.

A time is coming….when it will all be very different.

there isn’t anyone looking out for you…that’s true
There is no magical agency that will investigate your case while you stay home and watch television because you’re bored out of your mind.

You might have to reach out.

While there is so much privilege, there is also so much despair.
Those have’s and have not’s will both be required to reach past their comfort zones.
This isn’t going to happen because there’s an operation in place to match people and their needs and their circumstances and their abundance together.

This is going to happen because of Hurricanes Katrina & Ike.
She blew through the Gulf coast and our world was changed.

This changed the face of our land more than the terrorist attacks of September 11 in the south anyway.

The present economy is a platform from which it may happen.
How many people have a brother in law living with them now.
How hard is that?

Give your despair away. Take a newcomer to dinner. Shelter someone in body and heart.
