My human heart..
There is a layer of membrane over the heart.
It is there to protect and restrain
Protect the heart from those things foreign to love
Restraining the muscle from bursting its boundaries with effort

I need this covering on my heart and yet I resent it.
I want so much to burst with the effort of love and yet I know somewhere there needs to be this limitation.
This stopping place where I can try no more and must rest.

In this mandatory place of rest, there is a small vulnerability and I can be loved where my protective layer will allow love in, it is in this place that I have found you.
