The love of his life

Born in the mountains
He lives on the plain
Baked by summer sun
Frozen by winter rain
And she wonders why
Her man stays the same

He saw many chances
Come his way and go
And those opportunities
That passed by his door
He never rued the miss
He never wanted more

His love always constant
And all that she had sought
He loves her so strongly
In her his life was wrought
He holds her as a treasure
Beyond time, beyond thought

And she is all his life
Morning, noon and night
Dreaming and on waking
In all peace and in all strife
In all of his life’s travels
She is beacon and his guide

A really gentle piece on love Dolan. ..I liked the progression in this and especially the meter.

She is one lucky gal!

Thats awfully nice

Linda,

I'm really pleased you liked this poem. As to what I appear to be to those who read my works, I try hard to live up to what they expect me to be.

Claire,

The more I read this poem I see that it is essentially a basic one. What it is about though, is universal
