Skin Deep?
Some say beauty is skin deep
Others say beauty is only skin
Most don’t even waste their sleep
Pondering the without or the within
Some say it’s in one’s height
Others say it’s in lesser weight
Most think it’s in fitting tight
When they regularly mate
Some think it lies within
Others insist it is without
Most think it’s a lot of spin
Not worth thinking about
Some think it’s overrated
Others think it “has been”
Most think it’s celebrated
To sell all things fashion
I don’t think at all about it
Don’t fret or talk about it
For me it’s just a lot of stuff
Short, tall or well endowed
I’m happy with my beloved
She’s beauty, she loves me enough

I couldn't agree with you more. Some people put far too much consideration to the outward appreance of people and never bother getting below the surface to find the true inner beauty. This was well written and your point is well taken.
