Monsoon Love

The sky is slate grey
Not the usual blue
Still sky, no sound
Where once birds flew

It is an expectation
Of rain from above
On the yearning earth
Awaiting its love

Months of separation
Causing fervid desire
Like a body obsessed
With consuming fire

Streaks across the sky
Lights above hover
Thunder - like footsteps
Of a long lost lover

The air turns still
No wind, still trees
And earth, fully silent
Praying on its knees

The sky opens, rain falls
On its long lost bride
Ecstasy, fulfillment, joy
Earth awash, satisfied

master piece!....

I loved how you connect the sky and earth as lovers, its really quite beautiful and the words you used in this write were perfectly chosen and well presented......nice work, peace.

Sub-continent love affair

The monsoon is the difference between life and death for many farmers in the sub-continent. If there is no annual love affair all suffer.
