Know yourself
Love is a place
Light years away
If you ever get there
You’re not allowed to stay
Happiness is an illusion
Rotating in your head
When it’s caught you find
You can’t afford what it’s fed
Liberty is only a word
About a state of mind
Oft when you reach it
It’s not what you hoped to find
Equality is amongst
Peers of your own kind
Hope to find it elsewhere
Is not allowed by man’s design
Justice is dreamt of
Each and every day
Oft when you seek it
You’ll find you can’t pay
Finding heaven is easy
Fast, pray and give alms
You can also find it on our earth
In the pretense of a lover’s charms
Don’t search for anything
Before finding yourself
And for success in that
You must take the right path

My friend Dolan
If I am to be totally honest in my response to this read I would have to say that the overt negativity of this piece in the early stanzas takes a little bit of the zest out of the intended positive message contained in the last stanza. To me they seem to be presenting a genuine conundrum fro the reader to work through.

Thank you Pete
I see your point. I wanted however, to point out so many obstacles one faces before attaining achievement.
I agree
I may be lost in what I find in this.If not I believe it says you must find and believe in yourself before you can find and believe in any lasting thing. So from my take on this Dolan, this is what I believe and I truely like this.

Thank you Gloria. I wanted to show that many have to live without love, happiness, equality and justice and in such situations must look inside themselves to get through such adverse times.
