There is a constant numbness
That darkens my mood.
Its heightened vibrations
Resonate through my lifeless flesh

And I turn my back on the light
That lights the lamp on my feet.
And I stare into the dark space
That spirals me into an infinite void.

I see echoes across the mountains
And they have smug look upon them.
I gaze at the flashing red light
And chew on a senseless stale smell

Lost in the constant numbness
That lingers like a dark cloud,
That clings like a falling shadow,
Being a non-stop beating blur

Overtaking me into a dead end
Where the wall is so high
And there is no spark, no fire,
No urge that binds me to life.
I have fallen ill to a dark will
That tightly caresses me still
