untitled

I danced in your
beauty until the
early light two as
kindred too alike,
rolling laying
laughing together
taking our time we
made off into the
night, hand in hand
arm in arm you
swindled me with
your exquisite charm,
yet these rules of
attraction improbable
and unreliable left
me as you did a
little scarred.

Demanding was our
desire to reach we
lost endlessly time
after time our
attire strewn about,
trees rustling in
the wind burnt sienna
upon the horizon
dripping, melting into
the ocean and the
sky aflame with crimson
cloud there we lay
breathless, still, our
wanton lust fulfilled.
Regret an ache in
the pit of your
stomach swerving
dangerously the grip
of reality hard now
cold realisation of this
act this betrayal, averted
eyes full of shame we
gather our thoughts we
gather our clothes and
without a word we part.
