A Tiresome Game
We will never understand what drives us each along
You listen to a certain tune. I sing a different song
You hide a big part of yourself safely tucked away
I chose to confront my feelings every single day
What you merely mock as simply “doom and gloom”
Is a small part of me for which I bravely make room
Words written on a page can tell what we should know
And further than this tiresome game we will never go
So play with all the others and I’ll keep being me
I don’t want to be a player in your “Life’s rich tapestry”
I feel what I feel and I like what I am
If you can’t see my beauty inside. I really don’t give a damn.
