Blindness is a State of Mind

I had to tell you of my dream
It came to me last night
And when I woke this Autumn morn
I knew I had to write.

From the darkness of deepest sleep
Someone took my hand
They led me to the oceans side
Made of softest sand

He told me to look to the sky
And what a sight I did see!
A sky laden with so many stars
Thousands just for me!

Such a gift for me to be given
No money can ever buy
Even as I type these words
I cannot help but cry

The joy I felt to see the stars
You may not understand
But I now know what he wanted me to see
When he took my hand

This blindness seeping through my eyes
Does not my prison make
For in my dreams I’m free to view
All I must forsake.

Your story is so sad, and your writing is so good.
This is a lovely piece about something that many of us take for granted.
Good write,
Dave

Hello Mr Gibbs! I'm so glad

Hello Mr Gibbs!

I'm so glad you liked it...and understood exactly what I wanted to convey....sometimes we completely take for granted what are the most beautiful (and free) lol experiences in the world :o)

Delicate Girl, wow

You write so beautifully. It's obvious you "see" with your HEART. I love this poem.
