Blood Rose

A dark thorn in my side
You drew my crimson blood
But all you had was the smallest drop
You really wanted a flood
Dragged me down left me to die
Yet I have risen above the sky
Soaring higher than ever than I did with you
A dark thorn in my side
No longer will I hide

I set sail across the sea of distant memories
Destination unknown as I cross your violent seas
You sank my ship too many times
Yet I always swam ashore
You think you sank me that final time
Yet I now sail for more

I heard the rings of laughter
As you packed up your things and went
Left me picking up the pieces
My energy and money spent
Hibernated through the winter of my self induced pain
Rising in the Summer heat
I’ll never think of you again

I set sail across the sea of distant memories
Destination unknown as I cross your violent seas
You sank my ship too many times
Yet I always swam ashore
You think you sank me that final time
Yet I now sail for more

I heard the rings of laughter
As you packed up your things and went
Left me picking up the pieces
My energy and money spent
Hibernated through the winter of my self induced pain
Rising in the Summer heat
I’ll never think of you again

The memories that we had lay shattered on the floor
Dreams of life and happy ever after, simply are no more
I don’t know if you think of me
But I never think of you
If only you knew what went on
You would feel pain too
So take this ode, digest the words, may they set sail in your head
For you and all your memories, are nothing to me…just dead.
