Words
The words of sadness that I see,
Hammer home, like a stake to me,
Through the hearts of those that care,
As you lay your soul out bare.
Your words lay flattened,
Crushed with the hurt,
Your heart lays bleeding,
Trodden in the dirt.
Battered and bruised,
Heavy with scars,
Leaking such sorrows,
Of painful memoirs.
The grief within each line,
Shows a sufference of time,
And for friends that hold you dear,
It is a time of anxious fear.
To will you through your trial,
In times of feeling so fragile,
To wish a smile upon your face,
And of tears, there's not a trace.
To see your words glide across a page,
To sing, to dance upon this stage,
To enchant, inspire us all,
To paint such beauty and enthrall.

goodness me,your writing almost brought tears to my eyes..isn't this a lovely site David...all walls of pretension down and as we each bare our soul,we are able to touch healing elements in each others writing..thank you so much for sharing such beautiful thoughts in such beautiful words.

dave, i am tearing up, reading your lovely poem. your "words" have made me feel so nice today. It's almost like you knew I needed it. I have to say, I think you might just know more about a person from poetry than you do any other way in life...even in person...words convey alot more from the heart and soul.
This reminds me of a saying from someone,
"Everyone should fall in love with their eyes closed"
