Tuscan Fire
The sky, flame red as it set,
Horizon and heaven duet,
It plays out every night,
Nerve endings tingle with delight.
Streams reflection seems to blush,
From the intoxicating rush,
The lone silhouetted tree,
Shivers so uncomfortably.
As passion between the two,
Shows a beauty so pure, so true,
And as darkness closes in,
They yearn a new day to begin.
When the night has lost its yawn,
The lovers join again at dawn,
Passion sparks a brand new day,
Chasing darkness, dew drops away.
The tree stretches to reach high,
Above the stream that runs nearby,
Its leaves turn toward the sun,
The lace of night time is undone,
Water sparkles with the shine,
Gleefully playing, so divine,
Tranquil daybreak to admire,
Blue sky now full of Tuscan fire.

I like how you've woven this picture. How there's a subtle interplay between each "character" of this nature play. Dramatic.
Best line, (one of many) "horizon and heaven duet". Look forward to more.
Thank You Poetmaster!
I have to be honest and say that I'm quite happy myself with how this piece turned out! Many thanks for the positive comments, highly appreciated,

Just simply beautiful
Beautifully written David. I knew you'd come home with gorgeous words in your heart! I read this piece and I get homesick for Italy. It has actually made me cry....all 5 times that I read it. Love these two lines...
"As passion between the two,
Shows a beauty so pure, so true"
Brilliant to say the least...you should publish this one.
Nice going!

Thank you very much! Your comment is very flattering, thank you.
Italy is a beautiful country without doubt, I tried to get a little of that across with this piece, I hope I managed too. If you, as an Italian, can relate to this write, then I'm very happy!
I'm pleased with this piece myself, I don't mean that in a big headed way, I just happen to quite like the end result (for a change!)
Thanks again Linda,
Dave
