Afloat
Where do the days go?
They all seem to vanish
I want them to last
So I can relish,
The feel of your lips
Brushing my neck,
Makes me feel grounded
Like a shipwreck.
The port and the starboard
In bits on the beach,
Safe haven of harbour
So out of reach,
The bow is all damaged,
Splinters from planks
Ruptured in two,
I needed this, thanks.
You make me feel
Like a king in this world,
I know that sounds stupid
In fact, quite absurd,
But when I look in the mirror
And see what I see,
I don't have a clue
What you see in me.
But you make me feel special,
Make me forget all my past,
So let's grab a sail
And get it up on this mast,
Set a course for the future,
For our dreams and goals,
One battered vessel,
Two united souls.
