ponder this its so true
I was shocked, confused, bewildered
As I entered Heaven's door,
Not by the beauty of it all,
Nor the lights or its decor.
But it was the folks in Heaven
Who made me sputter and gasp--
The thieves, the liars, the sinners,
The alcoholics and the trash.
There stood the kid from seventh grade
Who swiped my lunch money twice.
Next to him was my old neighbor
Who never said anything nice.
Herb, who I always thought
Was rotting away in hell,
Was sitting pretty on cloud nine,
Looking incredibly well.
I nudged Jesus , 'What's the deal?
I would love to hear Your take.
How'd all these sinners get up here?
God must've made a mistake.
'And why's everyone so quiet,
So somber - give me a clue.'
'Hush, child,' He said, 'they're all in shock.
No one thought they'd be seeing you.'
JUDGE NOT.
Remember....Just going to church doesn't make you a Christian Any more than standing in your garage makes you a car ..
Every saint has a PAST.... Every sinner has a FUTURE

Excellent
Great punch line, loved the whole poem. raskin
:-)) This is
so delightful! love it. Can I share it with some of my friends? It's too good to not do it! Why have you tagged it as 'Christian' and 'God'? It's winsome humour. What a lovely way to start the day! Thanks. I'm still smiling at the "....cloud nine" bit and the 'car' punch line. :-) And about the saints and sinners, this is so true!
about the saints
and sinners, this is so thought-provoking and inspiring. Wud it mean that people like us have a hope too? :-)
You really got me pondering...
You speak the truth, and I admire you for that.
A very clever piece with a profound inspiration.
Wow! Thanks for posting.

you are right
We all have a pass; BUT GOD!!! (smile)
Jesus died that all may be saved. and when we ask Jesus to come into our hearts, (Romans 10:9-10) he will save us.
"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1John 1:9
Bless you!!
What a lovely read for a Sunday morning like this.
Truth dipped in honeyed humor makes it more effective. I'm glad i got the chance to read this.
I love the twist. What a nice way to confront reality. Indeed, people should be defined "not yesterday, not tomorrow, but always TODAY.
Thanks Dave.
Hugs!!

yeah I've pondered...
that was or is a very good reminder to us that God really don't see as men do... I hope I'll be there to be in shock and happy to know that we all made the choice to choose THE WAY, TRUTH AND LIFE. good write.
