St John's in the Vale

As I travel through the misty vale,
in the early light of dawn,
with the sun just waking, weak and pale,
seeming strangely forlorn,
the peach tinted beams shine,
ruler straight over the fells above,
yes over these beloved mountains of mine,
over these valleys that I so love.

Am I dreaming each time I pass through,
as each wondrous vista unfolds?
No it is the reality of a beauty so true,
so lovely it really, and strongly holds,
you in it's bosom of welcome and love,
that Mother Nature has in her wisdom,
created a place,oh so far above,
any other in the whole of this Kingdom.

Misty Morn

Hello Tom,

I was really impressed with the beauty of this poem. I'm not sure if you've read much of my poetry (only about 10% of which is spiritual), but I simply love mist. I've climbed mountains in it, swum in it, gone walking in it, and I've driven in it. I find the mist so mysterious and 'other worldly'. The way you've described your 'misty vale' and the 'peach tinted beam shine' is superb. Mother Nature is magnificent, isn't she? A great piece - well written. Warm regards,

Chris
