Creativity Doesn’t Come in a Can

Do you know
Creativity doesn’t come in a can

So many thirsty people
Looking to my camera and my pen
So they can drink up my thoughts again
Poised for the first look
A few of them appreciate my art
Others just shitty haters from the start
Then there are those that don’t get it at all
Oblivious in the comments they make
Too busy acting so fuckin fake

Someone tell them
Creativity doesn’t come in a can

Scraping my thoughts together again
I express them on film and paper
Excited about the artists that will critique them later
All people see art differently
But a select few can take in a drawing, image or poem
And have it really hit home
Feel it inside and understand
This stuff just isn’t canned

They realize
Creativity doesn’t come in a can

It’s not something you turn on
Creativity comes rushing in
Ushered by pure inspiration
When it speaks to me
I grab the tool of choice
And create the art to represent that voice
Savoring the thoughts and emotion
That comes with the joy of expression
Whether it’s happiness, enlightenment or depression

I wrote this to let you know
Creativity doesn’t come in a can

yes!

It doesn't at all. It's a feeling, an urge, and it strikes when it pleases. Creativity is not a button to be pushed. I wish more people would understand this... Great poem!

Neo you are too cool!

Thanks for reading my friend. I always appreciate your feedback. Glad to know someone is with me on this. LOL Thanks again.
