A Conversation with Subconscious Me

3:31 AM, I lay here awake
Thinking of my dear
I see a figure far off in the distance
In a blink it is near

Who are you? What are you?
And why are you here?
I am you, your subconscious
Isn’t that clear?

No not really! Some times my dreams
Aren’t what “I” would want
Well sometimes you bring me to please
Other times to haunt

Leave me alone tonight, just go away
I don’t want you here
Hey, you brought me. What will it be tonight?
Joy, sadness or fear?

I don’t want to dream tonight. I just want to lay here
ASLEEP IN MY BED!
Don’t scream at me, you’re the one in control
It’s all in “your” head!

Arrggh…This is crazy! Am I really having a conversation
With my subconscious self?
You tell me, you’re dreaming this
Hey..do I look like an elf?

I don’t know, I can’t see you clearly. IT’S TOO DARK!!!
I can’t make you out!
Sort of cranky tonight aren’t you? Why so angry?
Why must you shout?

In case you haven’t noticed, I’m trying to sleep
Just go away and leave me be!
I would but “you” asked for this visit
It wasn’t me!

Okay! Okay! I get it now
I’m asking you to go
But wait…we haven’t yet figured out
What you wanted to know!

I guess I want to know, in some obscure ways
Why some of my dreams come true?
I can’t answer that. Those answers
Can only be found in you

What good are you then? I thought this
Was your realm?
Well its is but I’m just the first mate
You captain this helm!

Captain? I have ordered you to leave
But yet you’re so opposed?
Because you want me to be, you’re the one
With your eyes closed!

That’s true, my eyes are closed. I wasn’t sure if I was
Asleep or Awake?
Asleep now captain! The helm
Is yours to take.

Well, Thank you, me! Tonight we simply
Float weightless and carefree!
As you wish captain
So shall it be

All there is left to say is
Good Night You!
I think you mean to say
Good Night Me!

What ever.. Go away!!
I just want to ZZZZZZZZ!
