The Giving of the Abundant Life
The Giving of the Abundant Life
Written By: Craig A. Crabb (October 1996)
Yet another winter day passed into oblivion. Devoid of growth or decay. Dormant. Without leaves or foliage. No beauty to behold. To the wondering eye, I may appear as one who is dying.
Yet day by day I do strengthen. My roots sink ever deeper in search of that which nourishes and gives life.
Soon spring will return and the unseen labors of my winter's distress will show forth in beauty and splendor. For this spring I will be more magnificent than ever. My branches will extend beyond any previous limitations.
The pruning of winter past will result in a stronger me. The strength of my branches will uphold many a weary traveler. The thickness of my foliage will provide shelter from the sweltering summer sun.
When the season of harvest does arrive, the fruit which I shall provide will be sweet to the taste, and with abundance shall fill the souls of many.
If I should never see another winter it matters not to me ... only that this season for which I have been prepared will give life it's fullest ... Strength, shelter, nourishment - The giving of the abundant life.
