There's a shadow in the darkness,
that waits unceasingly.
For those who search the crevices,
no mortal could ever see.

Some call the shadow fate,
others, simple chance!
Still it's observation,
lies hidden beyond mere glance.

There are those who proclaim a vision
with which they navigate,
that precludes mere circumstance of chance
or the will of written fate.

Fates' obviated decisions,
mark freedom as untrue,
while chance's suppositions
most assuredly accrue.

Like shadows in the darkness,
fate and chance abide,
lamenting each others force,
with sequels they deride.
