Seeing in the Dark
I see within the darkness,
what eyes cannot behold!
Obscure and yet profound,
both indolent and bold!
It is in total darkness
the mind takes full control,
devoid of impudent vision
that wrestles with the soul.
Here, death lies beside you,
in all it's glorious garb
and every fiber of your being,
feels the tenuous barb.
Walk softly in the darkness,
take note of where you are,
stumbling to submission
doesn't get you very far.
Should chance or fate be with you,
the light will come again.
Until that time respect the dark
and it will cause no pain.
